Dr. Kevin Fuchs
Dr. Kevin Fuchs is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. He was educated in Finland, Sweden, and Malaysia, and earned his doctorate in Tourism Management from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management at Taylor’s University, Malaysia. His academic work is grounded in sustainable development, with a particular focus on the tourism sector, where he bridges theory with practice to address pressing global and local challenges.
Dr. Fuchs is recognized internationally for his contributions to tourism research. He is ranked among the world’s top 25 researchers in Tourism Education (Google Scholar) and is listed on Stanford University’s prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists in Tourism and Leisure — a recognition he has received in 2024. His research sits at the intersection of sustainability, consumer behavior, and destination development, offering critical insights into how tourism can evolve in balance with environmental, social, and economic imperatives.
His publication record includes more than 100 research outputs, with over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles frequently appearing in respected international outlets such as Current Issues in Tourism, Journal of Teaching in Travel & Tourism, Journal of Vacation Marketing, and Tourism and Hospitality Research. This strong research profile is underpinned by nearly two decades of prior industry experience in revenue management and real estate, enabling him to engage with both academic and practitioner audiences in meaningful ways.
