Professor Sally Everett
Co-Editor-in-Chief, Gastronomy & Tourism
Professor Sally Everett is Professor of Business Education at King’s Business School, King’s College London, where she is Director of I-LEAD (Innovation, Leadership, Education and Development), the School’s centre for educational innovation, leadership and scholarship. She previously served as Vice Dean (Education) from 2019 to 2025 and has held a range of senior academic leadership roles, including interim dean, deputy dean and head of department across several UK universities.
Sally is internationally recognised for her contributions to both business education and tourism research. Her research spans gastronomy and food tourism, destination development, the social and cultural impacts of tourism and mega-events, and higher education pedagogy, with a particular focus on inclusive education, social justice and educational leadership. She has published extensively in these fields and is the author and editor of numerous books and journal articles, including Food and Drink Tourism: Principles and Practices (Sage), the edited collection Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Business Management (2025), and her monograph Decolonising Tourism Education (Channel View Publications). She has published extensively on food and tourism in journals including Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Tourism Geographies, Journal of Sustainable Tourism and Current Issues in Tourism
Since joining Gastronomy & Tourism as Co-Editor-in-Chief in 2024, Sally has worked to strengthen the journal’s international profile and scholarly impact. She is committed to publishing rigorous, interdisciplinary research that advances understanding of gastronomy, tourism, hospitality and food systems while encouraging methodological innovation and engagement with contemporary global challenges. She is particularly passionate about supporting emerging scholars and fostering an inclusive and constructive editorial process that enables research to achieve its greatest potential.
