Aims & Scope
Analgesia is an international journal published four times a year that provides for the rapid review and publication in English of original research reports and reviews involving rigorous ethical experimental studies on the basic mechanisms and therapeutics of pain relief. Preclinical studies will be considered that are directed toward any aspect of pain pathways (e.g., anatomical, biochemical, molecular, pharmacological, or physiological) and their identification; that involve the study of neurotransmitters or modulators; or that investigate some aspect of known or experimental analgesic/antinociceptive compounds (including side effects). Clinical studies will be considered that help elucidate the mechanism of action of known analgesic drugs or that report on the use of combinations. Novel methodological, statistical, theoretical, or mathematical approaches will also be considered.
