Festival Management & Event Tourism, An International Journal, was designed to meet the needs of an evolving profession. Internationally the business of special events has grown to enormous proportions and now represents a significant contribution to the tourism industry. Festivals and special events have been and will continue to be an important medium for nonprofit and public organizations to carry out their missions, and to be a catalyst for community development. Festival Management & Event Tourism met the needs of these related groups, specifically by chronicling research progress, documenting management and marketing developments, and fostering interdisciplinary work about this phenomenon.
Festival Management & Event Tourism was a refereed journal published quarterly, sold by annual subscription only, to meet the needs and interest of event managers, researchers, related businesses, and those concerned with festivals and special events.
The journal title was changed to Event Managementwith Volume 6 in the year 2000 and currently publishes today.
